We’re thrilled to announce that 2015’s parade Grand Marshall will be 2015 Bowman Gray Stadium Modified Division Champion Tim Brown! You can see Tim and more than 100 businesses, community groups and marching bands on [parade date]. See you there!
Tim Brown, better known as “The Rocket”, just wrapped up his 24th season of modified racing. His love for racing was instilled in him at a young age as he grew up in his grandpa, Eb Clifton’s, race shop and going to the race track with him. Soon after graduating high school, Tim knew racing was what he wanted to do so he bought his first car and started a career that has grown into much more than he could’ve ever imagined.
After 24 years of racing at Bowman Gray Stadium, he has successfully earned the record for the most poles, fastest lap, most championships and most recently, most wins in the modified division with 74 wins. This year, he clinched his 10th Championship at Bowman Gray Stadium. Aside from Bowman Gray Stadium, Tim has also competed on the Nascar Whelen Southern Modified Tour and the KOMA Unwind Modified Madness Tour.
During the day, Tim works as the Suspension Manager at Roush-Fenway Racing in Concord. Every evening, he goes straight to the shop to work on his No. 83 Hayes Jewelers modified. When he isn’t busy working on race cars, he enjoys hunting, fishing, golfing, working his 1967 Camaro and spending time with family and friends. Next year, he plans to return to Bowman Gray in search of his 11th championship.
