Grand Marshal 2017

The Winston Salem Jaycees are excited to announce that our 2017 Grand Marshal will be Smitty’s Notes creator Jeffrey L. Smith (aka “Smitty”)! You can see Jeff along with more than 100 businesses, community groups and marching bands on Saturday, December 2nd. See you there!

Jeffrey L. Smith just celebrated 20 year anniversary of Smitty’s Notes where he shares community events for the Winston Salem area.

Jeff received a BA degree in Public Administration from Elon College (k/n/a Elon University). In 1986 he returned to Winston-Salem and worked with Womble Carlyle Sandridge and Rice, PLLC as an Environmental and Toxic Tort Litigation Paralegal. In 1996 he joined the legal department of Syngenta Crop Protection, LLC as a litigation paralegal.

Jeff is owner of SCNTriad Event Communications, Inc. that publishes the grassroots e-newsletter – Smitty’s Notes. This publication reaches over 16,000 people in and around the Winston-Salem community. SCNTriad developed, a community resource web site. Jeff wrote a weekly column about news and events in the arts and entertainment community in Relish Magazine, did radio with WHTZ –FM and television and web with WXII-12.
